Description
A flavorful dish featuring succulent shrimp in a garlic-butter sauce, tossed with tender linguine and brightened with fresh lemon juice.

- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 12 oz linguine
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 4 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, divided
- 2 shallots, finely diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar or chicken stock
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Peel and devein the shrimp, if not already done. Finely dice the shallots, mince the garlic, juice the lemon, and chop the parsley.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook until al dente, about 6–8 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add shallots, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Sauté until shallots are translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
- Season shrimp with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally, until shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Deglaze the skillet with apple cider vinegar or chicken stock, scraping up any browned bits. Add lemon juice and simmer for 1 minute. Stir in the remaining butter and olive oil until the sauce is glossy.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and add the cooked linguine and parsley. Toss to coat everything in the sauce. Add reserved pasta water, a splash at a time, to adjust the sauce consistency.
- Drizzle with additional olive oil if desired. Serve hot, garnished with more parsley.
Notes
Serve with crusty bread or a green salad. Adjust the spice level by increasing or reducing red pepper flakes.
