Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • fresh parsley for garnish, chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Wings

  • Pat your chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Separate whole wings into drumettes and flats if needed for easier cooking and eating.

Step 2: Make the Lemon-Pepper Marinade

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended and fragrant.

Step 3: Coat the Wings

  • Add the chicken wings to the marinade bowl and toss gently but thoroughly to coat every piece evenly. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes to help wings cook evenly and get crispy.

Step 5: Air Fry the Wings

  • Place wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 25-30 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking and browning.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • Transfer cooked wings to a serving plate. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Paper Towels

Notes

  • Pat wings dry twice for extra crispiness before marinating.
  • Add extra lemon zest or juice for a more intense lemon flavor.
  • Cook wings in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
  • Use freshly ground black pepper for sharper flavor.
  • Rest wings a few minutes after cooking to lock in juiciness.
