Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds fresh salmon fillets You can use either individual portions or a whole half fish.
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce Look for low-sodium options if you prefer.
  • 3/4 cup orange juice Freshly squeezed is best, but store-bought works too.
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil This adds a rich, nutty flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced Fresh garlic gives the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced Adds warmth and depth to the marinade.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Balances the salty and tangy flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper For added spice.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish Optional, but adds a nice crunch.

Instructions

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, orange juice, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, honey, and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a baking dish. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring it is well coated. If you have time, let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator to deepen the flavors.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This temperature is perfect for baking fish, allowing it to cook through while remaining tender and juicy.
  • Once the oven is ready, place the baking dish in. Bake the salmon for about 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your fillets.
  • Remove the salmon from the oven and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added flavor and presentation. Serve it warm with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables to complete the meal.
