Asian Tacos

Ingredients

For the Tacos:

  • 1.5 tablespoons canola oil divided
  • 0.5 ounce ginger minced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.125 ounce Thai basil chopped
  • 1 unit red bell pepper sliced
  • 10 ounces inside round steak
  • 6 unit flour tortillas
  • 3 tablespoons peanuts chopped
  • 0.5 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • to taste Sriracha sauce
  • to taste Salt & pepper
  • 1 unit lime cut into wedges (optional)

Instructions

Cooking Instructions:

  • Step 1: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar. Cut the inside round steak into thin strips and toss it in the marinade. Set aside to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  • Step 2: While the steak marinates, slice your red bell pepper and chop the Thai basil. Mince the ginger and garlic.
  • Step 3: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of canola oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced ginger and garlic, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Step 4: Add the marinated steak strips to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sear for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Step 5: Add the sliced red bell pepper to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until slightly tender. Mix in the chopped Thai basil.
  • Step 6: Warm the flour tortillas and spoon the steak and vegetable mixture onto each tortilla. Top with chopped peanuts and drizzle with Sriracha sauce. Serve with lime wedges.
