Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs excess fat trimmed

Spices

  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon salt

BBQ Sauce

  • ¾ cup BBQ sauce divided

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the trimmed chicken thighs with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the spices.
  • Step 3: Place the seasoned chicken thighs in a baking dish in a single layer.
  • Step 4: Spoon half of the BBQ sauce over the chicken thighs, coating them evenly. Reserve the other half for later.
  • Step 5: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Step 6: After 25 minutes, remove the foil and baste the chicken with the reserved BBQ sauce. Bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Step 7: If desired, switch the oven to broil and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes for extra flavor.
  • Step 8: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
