Start by measuring out your ingredients. If you haven’t done so already, cut your ripe banana into chunks and gather your leafy greens, if using.
In your blender, add the frozen banana chunks, cottage cheese or Greek yogurt, and almond or dairy milk. If you’re using protein or collagen powder, throw that in too!
If you want to pack in some nutrients, toss in a handful of baby spinach or kale. This is optional but highly recommended for a healthy twist.
Blend on high speed until everything is well combined and smooth. If you find the consistency too thick, you can add more milk to thin it out.
Add ice cubes to the blender based on your preferred thickness. Blend again until the ice is fully crushed and everything is incorporated.
Pour your smoothie into a glass, and if you’re feeling fancy, top it with banana slices, chocolate chips, cacao nibs, a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder, or a dollop of whipped cream.
