Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 beef chops about 1-inch thick each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme) for garnish
  • 1 lemon sliced

Instructions

  • Begin by patting your beef chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Place a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Heat until shimmering but not smoking.
  • Carefully lay the beef chops into the hot pan. Cook undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes per side until a golden-brown crust forms. Use a meat thermometer to reach 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
  • Transfer the beef chops to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs and lemon slices before serving.
  • Serve the beef chops alongside your favorite sides such as roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, or salad. Enjoy!

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Cast-iron pan
  • Meat Thermometer

Notes

  • Bone-in beef chops offer more flavor and juiciness, but boneless works well too.
  • Rest meat after cooking to keep chops juicy and tender.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness without guesswork.
  • High heat searing creates a delicious caramelized crust on the beef.
  • Customize herbs for garnish—rosemary and thyme are classic, but oregano or parsley add nice variations.
