Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 lb Brioche, diced into 1-inch cubes Preferably stale for better absorption

Custard Mixture

  • 2 cups Milk Can substitute with 1 cup milk and 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and cut the brioche into 1-inch cubes. Place in a large mixing bowl.
  • Step 2: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and kosher salt until well combined.
  • Step 3: Pour the egg mixture over the cubed brioche and gently fold to coat. Let it soak for 10-15 minutes.
  • Step 4: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and transfer the soaked bread mixture into it. Spread evenly and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  • Step 5: Let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with maple syrup, fresh fruit, or powdered sugar.
