Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder sifted if lumpy
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar sifted if lumpy
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup canola oil or extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  • Line your 9x9 baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and sea salt until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, canola oil, water, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the dark chocolate chips to the batter for extra gooeyness.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using the parchment paper and transfer to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
