Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 pound turkey breakfast sausage or chicken sausage

Vegetables

  • 1 each bell pepper diced (red, yellow, or orange)
  • 1 each small yellow onion diced

Frozen Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups frozen shredded hash browns

Cheese

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided

Baking Mix

  • 1.5 cups Bisquick baking mix

Eggs

  • 4 large eggs

Milk

  • 2 cups whole milk (480 ml)

Spices

  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • to taste salt

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Step 2: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces.
  • Step 3: Stir in the diced bell pepper and onion, sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  • Step 4: In a large bowl, whisk together the Bisquick baking mix, milk, and eggs until smooth. Stir in the sausage mixture, hash browns, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Season with pepper and salt.
  • Step 5: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the mixture evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  • Step 6: Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Step 7: Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
