Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Place the slices of French bread or brioche into the custard mixture, soaking for about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium heat, adding a small amount of butter or oil to prevent sticking.
  • Carefully place the soaked bread slices onto the hot surface, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove from the pan and serve immediately with toppings like maple syrup, fresh fruit, or powdered sugar.
