Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) or as high as it will go. If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Aim for a nice round shape, and make sure it’s not too thick to ensure a crispy base.
Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza peel or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle the olive oil over the surface of the dough and spread it evenly with your hands or a brush.
In a mixing bowl, combine the freshly grated Pecorino Romano cheese, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Sprinkle the cheese and seasoning mixture evenly over the olive oil-brushed pizza dough. Make sure to cover the surface generously.
Carefully slide the pizza onto the hot pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
Once the pizza is out of the oven, let it cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy every cheesy, peppery bite!
