Ingredients

  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract for frosting
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  • Step 1: Melt the Chocolate
Begin by melting the chopped unsweetened chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • Step 2: Cream the Butter and Sugar
In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and sugar. Cream until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Step 3: Add the Eggs and Vanilla
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  • Step 4: Incorporate the Chocolate
Pour the cooled chocolate into the butter and egg mixture. Stir until smooth.
  • Step 5: Add the Dry Ingredients
Fold in the all-purpose flour and then add the chocolate chips, mixing gently.
  • Step 6: Bake the Brownies
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line the baking pan. Pour in batter and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Step 7: Cool and Frost
Let the brownies cool on a rack. Prepare frosting by beating butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Frost cooled brownies.
  • Step 8: Add the Finishing Touch
Sprinkle with festive sprinkles, cut into squares, and serve!

Notes
