Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for even baking.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
In a large mixing bowl, mix the chopped artichoke hearts, shredded mozzarella, grated parmesan, sour cream, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Stir in the melted garlic butter.
Slice the French bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces.
Spread the creamy artichoke mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the artichoke mixture.
Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm.
