Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza

Ingredients

For the Chicken Marinade:

  • 10 oz skinless and boneless chicken breast Cut into 1/2-inch (1cm) cubes
  • 1 tablespoon butter Adds a rich flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 unit jalapeno seeded
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 12-inch store-bought pizza crust
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • 1/4 unit onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese for topping
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice for brightness

For the Sauce:

  • 4 oz tomato sauce base of the pizza sauce
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream makes the sauce rich and creamy
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt adds creaminess and tang
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cubed chicken with minced garlic, chopped jalapeno, salt, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, garam masala, minced ginger, lemon juice, and a pinch of cinnamon. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add marinated chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes until cooked through. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add tomato sauce, heavy cream, and yogurt. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C), placing the pizza stone inside if using.
  • Roll out the pizza crust and transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza peel. Brush with olive oil and spread the sauce mixture over the base. Top with cooked chicken, sliced onions, and mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
