Ingredients

  • 1 large romaine lettuce chopped
  • 1 cup croutons
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon crumbled

Instructions

  • Start by washing your romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Pat it dry using a salad spinner or clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and fresh lemon juice. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while continuously whisking to emulsify the dressing. Once combined, stir in a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  • Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until it’s crispy and browned. Drain on paper towels to remove excess grease, then crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
  • Add the croutons, crumbled turkey bacon, and grated Parmesan cheese to the chopped romaine lettuce. Pour the homemade dressing over the top and toss everything gently but thoroughly to ensure every leaf is coated.
  • Serve your Classic Caesar Salad immediately for the best texture and flavor. Garnish with extra Parmesan or whole croutons if desired.

Equipment

  • Large Salad Bowl
  • Small Bowl
  • Skillet
  • Salad Spinner

Notes

  • Use fresh, crisp romaine lettuce to avoid watery salad.
  • Make the dressing just before tossing to keep it bright and fresh.
  • Roasting garlic before adding to the dressing mellows its sharpness.
  • Toast homemade croutons with olive oil and salt for extra crunch.
  • Try grating your own Parmesan for richer flavor.
