Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup lump crab meat drained and picked over for shells
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

  • Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and help with easy cleanup.

Step 2: Mix the Crab Filling

  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard. Stir until smooth and creamy. Add the lump crab meat, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and chopped fresh chives. Gently fold everything together, making sure the crab meat stays in nice chunks to retain texture.

Step 3: Prepare the Crescent Dough

  • Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into triangles along the perforations. These triangles will serve as your little pockets for the crab filling.

Step 4: Fill and Roll

  • Place about one tablespoon of the crab mixture near the wide end of each crescent triangle. Be careful not to overfill to prevent leakage during baking. Starting from the wide end, roll the dough up towards the narrow point, sealing the edges gently but securely with your fingers to keep the filling inside.

Step 5: Bake to Golden Perfection

  • Place each rolled crescent on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed up.

Step 6: Serve Warm

  • Let the Crab Crescent Rolls cool for a few minutes before serving. They’re best enjoyed warm, allowing the creamy filling to be perfectly melty. Garnish with extra chopped chives for a fresh pop of color and flavor.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Notes

  • Use lump crab meat for the best texture and flavor; avoid imitation crab for authenticity.
  • Softened cream cheese ensures a smooth, creamy filling that's easy to mix.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts inside before rolling for extra crunch.
  • Tent rolls with foil halfway through baking to prevent over-browning.
  • Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle sea salt before baking for elegance.
