  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning A blend of herbs that adds flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper For a hint of heat.
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika Adds color and a mild sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder For an aromatic boost.
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, for those who love spice.
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt Enhances the flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder Adds depth and a touch of warmth.
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts Cut into 1-inch cubes for easy cooking.
  • 2 pieces green onions Diced, for garnish and a fresh kick.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures your chicken will cook evenly and get that crispy outer layer.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the raw honey and warm water until smooth. This will be your sweet glaze that gives the chicken its signature flavor.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole-wheat panko breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and chili powder. Mix well to evenly distribute the spices.
  • Add the 1-inch cubes of chicken breast to the breadcrumb mixture and toss until all pieces are well coated. This will give your chicken that satisfying crunch!
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray. Spread the coated chicken cubes in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  • Bake the chicken in your preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the breadcrumbs are golden brown and crispy.
  • Once done, remove the chicken from the oven and drizzle your honey glaze over the top. Garnish with diced green onions for a pop of color and flavor. Serve hot, and watch it disappear!
