Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the block of tofu in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels, and place a heavy object on top. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.
Once pressed, unwrap the tofu and cut it into bite-sized cubes, about 1-inch in size.
In a mixing bowl, combine the avocado oil, Tamari, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir well to create a marinade for the tofu.
Add the tofu cubes to the bowl with the marinade. Gently toss to coat each piece evenly. Sprinkle the arrowroot starch over the tofu and toss again until all pieces are coated.
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with spray oil. Place the tofu cubes in a single layer in the basket.
Air fry the tofu for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
Once the tofu is golden brown and crispy, remove it from the air fryer. Serve it hot with your favorite dipping sauce or in a salad.
