Crunchy French Toast

This Crunchy French Toast is a delightful breakfast treat! Thick slices of brioche coated in crispy cornflakes create the perfect combination of soft and crunchy.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 cups cornflakes
  • 8 thick slices brioche or challah bread

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
  • In a shallow dish, crush the cornflakes into smaller pieces for coating.
  • Dip each slice of brioche or challah bread into the egg mixture, soaking briefly on each side.
  • Press the soaked bread into the crushed cornflakes to coat both sides.
  • Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the coated bread slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer to a serving platter, drizzle with maple syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and top with fresh berries. Enjoy!
