Start by rinsing the chicken wings under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. If you’re using whole wings, cut them into flats and drumettes, discarding the tips. This will help them cook evenly and make them easier to eat.
In a large bowl, combine the almond flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, sea salt, cayenne, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the spices. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and drizzle the olive oil over them. Toss the wings until they are fully coated in the breading mixture.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This step is crucial for achieving that perfect crispy texture.
Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the breaded wings in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the basket. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cook the wings for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. Check for doneness; the internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C). If you like them extra crispy, you can add a few more minutes to the cooking time.
Once cooked, remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauces, and watch them disappear!
