Easy Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1-1/4 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cream of tartar.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture and work it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and minced garlic until well combined.
  • Pour in the milk and gently mix until just combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Mix melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley, then brush this mixture over the tops of the biscuits.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  • Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
