Ingredients

For the Hummus:

  • 3 cups cooked cannellini or Great Northern beans (or 2 cans, drained and rinsed)
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 whole head roasted garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon flaked sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Roast the Garlic. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the top off a whole head of garlic, drizzle with a little olive oil, and wrap it in foil. Roast in the oven for 30-35 minutes until the cloves are soft and caramelized. Let it cool slightly before handling.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Beans. If using canned beans, drain and rinse them under cold water. If using cooked beans, ensure they are cooled and ready for blending.
  • Step 3: Blend the Ingredients. In a food processor, combine the cooked beans, roasted garlic cloves (squeezed out of their skins), olive oil, toasted sesame oil, salt, dried minced onion, dried minced garlic, black pepper, and flaked sea salt. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • Step 4: Adjust Consistency. If the hummus is too thick, add a little water or more olive oil, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Step 5: Add Toppings. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and poppy seeds on top. Drizzle with additional olive oil for an extra touch of flavor.
  • Step 6: Serve and Enjoy. Serve your Everything White Bean Hummus with an assortment of crackers, fresh veggies, or even spread it on sandwiches for a delicious twist. Enjoy every last bite!
