Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups white whole wheat flour or whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Almond Breeze Unsweetened Original Almondmilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Fresh fruit, maple syrup, and whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. A hot iron ensures that your waffles turn out crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the white whole wheat flour, old-fashioned oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the Almond Breeze almond milk, eggs, melted butter, honey (or brown sugar), and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine.
  • Scoop the batter into the preheated waffle iron, using a ladle or measuring cup. Close the lid and cook according to your waffle iron's instructions, typically about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
