Ingredients

  • 8 pieces Tortillas cut into 8 wedges each
  • 1 tablespoon Coarse Salt or more, depending on taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder to enhance taste
  • 2 inches Cooking Oil for frying, like canola or olive oil

Instructions

  • Step 1: Cut tortillas into 8 wedges using a sharp knife or pizza cutter for even cooking.
  • Step 2: Heat the oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 3: Drop a handful of tortilla wedges into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Step 4: Remove chips from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season while hot with salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Step 5: Continue frying remaining wedges in batches, adjusting oil temperature as necessary.
