Instructions
Build Homemade Almond Milk Step by Step
Step 1: Soak the Almonds - Start by soaking your slivered almonds in water for about 8 hours or overnight. This softens the nuts and makes blending easier.
Step 2: Drain and Rinse - After soaking, drain the almonds and rinse them under cold water to remove any residue.
Step 3: Blend - In your high-speed blender, combine the soaked almonds with 3 cups of hot tap water. Blend on high for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
Step 4: Strain - Place your nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer over a large bowl or pitcher. Pour the almond mixture into the bag/strainer to separate the almond pulp from the liquid.
Step 5: Squeeze - Gently squeeze the nut milk bag or press down with a spoon on the strainer to extract as much liquid as possible. The remaining pulp can be saved for other recipes or discarded.
Step 6: Store - Transfer the strained almond milk to a clean glass container. Add the remaining 3-1/2 cups of cold tap water and stir well. Your Homemade Almond Milk is now ready to enjoy!
