Ingredients

For the Wings:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings cut
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • 3/4 cup hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar or honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cooking spray

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is crucial for achieving that coveted crispy skin.
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat it with cooking spray. This will help prevent sticking and make for easy clean-up.
  • In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until they are evenly coated.
  • Place the seasoned wings on the baking sheet in a single layer. Make sure they are not crowded, as this will ensure they bake evenly and get crispy.
  • Bake the wings in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, flipping them halfway through. They should be golden brown and crispy when done.
  • While the wings are baking, combine the chicken broth or water, hot sauce, brown sugar or honey, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined, then simmer for a few minutes.
  • Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and toss them in the hot sauce mixture until they are fully coated.
  • For extra crispiness, return the coated wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • Once they’re done, let them cool for a few minutes and then serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce and sides.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the wings in the sauce for a few hours before baking.
  • You can use frozen wings; just ensure they are fully thawed before cooking.
  • These wings pair well with celery sticks and ranch dressing for dipping.
