Ingredients

For the Hummus:

  • 1.5 cups cooked chickpeas (drained and liquid reserved, from one 14 or 16-ounce can)
  • 2 cloves garlic (peeled)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Chickpeas - If you’re using canned chickpeas, simply drain them and reserve the liquid. If using dry chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender.
  • Step 2: Add Ingredients to the Food Processor - In your food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, peeled garlic, lemon juice, tahini, and olive oil.
  • Step 3: Blend Until Smooth - Start blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to high until smooth. Add reserved chickpea liquid as needed for desired consistency.
  • Step 4: Season to Taste - Taste the hummus and add salt as needed. Adjust lemon juice or garlic according to preference.
  • Step 5: Serve and Enjoy - Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish as desired. Serve with dippers like veggies or pita.
