Ingredients

  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2.75 cups All-Purpose Flour for coating
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to enhance flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

For the Honey BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup Hickory Smoke BBQ Sauce recommended Heinz
  • 1/4 cup Water to adjust sauce consistency
  • 2 tablespoons Honey for sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon Ketchup to add depth of flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke for smokiness

Instructions

Preparation Steps:

  • Step 1: Marinate the wings in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Step 2: In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and black pepper for coating.
  • Step 3: Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 4: Coat marinated wings in the seasoned flour mixture.
  • Step 5: Fry wings for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Step 6: Prepare the BBQ sauce by combining all sauce ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Step 7: Toss the fried wings in the honey BBQ sauce.
  • Step 8: Serve hot, optionally drizzled with additional honey.
