Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons matcha sifted
  • 6 cups rice crispies cereal
  • 3 ounces white chocolate or candy coating optional, for decoration
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  • Begin by melting the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows, sweetened condensed milk, and fine sea salt. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Once your marshmallows are melted, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the sifted matcha and vanilla extract until well combined. The mixture should turn a lovely green color with a rich matcha aroma!
  • Next, add the rice crispies cereal to the melted mixture. Gently fold the cereal into the marshmallow mix, ensuring everything is evenly coated. This step might take a little patience, but it’s worth it for that perfect texture!
  • Line your 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal. Pour the mixture into the dish and press it down firmly using a spatula or your hands. Make sure it’s evenly spread and compacted for the best results!
  • If you choose to use white chocolate or candy coating, melt it gently in a microwave or double boiler. Drizzle over the top of the pressed treats and sprinkle with colorful sprinkles for a fun and festive touch. Allow everything to cool and set.
