Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for even cooking.
In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, dark balsamic vinegar, and minced garlic. Whisk until well combined.
Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish and pour the marinade over them, letting sit for about 10 minutes.
Scatter halved cherry tomatoes around the chicken in the baking dish.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh basil, and serve hot.
