Ingredients

For the Bars:

  • 1 heaping cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups corn flakes cereal

For the Topping:

  • 1 heaping cup semi-sweet chocolate chips melted
  • 1 heaping cup creamy peanut butter melted with the chocolate
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter for swirling on top

Instructions

Instructions

  • Line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper, letting it hang over the edges for easy removal later. If you prefer, you can simply grease the dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the heaping cup of creamy peanut butter, light corn syrup, granulated sugar, and packed light brown sugar. Stir well until everything is fully combined and smooth.
  • Stir in the tablespoon of vanilla extract, mixing well. Then, gently fold in the corn flakes cereal until they are evenly coated with the peanut butter mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Using a spatula, press it down firmly and evenly into the bottom of the dish to create a solid base.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the heaping cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips with the heaping cup of creamy peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the pressed cornflake base. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer. Then, dollop the additional ½ cup of creamy peanut butter on top and swirl it gently with a knife for a beautiful marbled effect.
  • Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until fully set. Once set, lift the bars out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut them into squares.
