Line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper, letting it hang over the edges for easy removal later. If you prefer, you can simply grease the dish.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the heaping cup of creamy peanut butter, light corn syrup, granulated sugar, and packed light brown sugar. Stir well until everything is fully combined and smooth.
Stir in the tablespoon of vanilla extract, mixing well. Then, gently fold in the corn flakes cereal until they are evenly coated with the peanut butter mixture.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Using a spatula, press it down firmly and evenly into the bottom of the dish to create a solid base.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the heaping cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips with the heaping cup of creamy peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the pressed cornflake base. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer. Then, dollop the additional ½ cup of creamy peanut butter on top and swirl it gently with a knife for a beautiful marbled effect.
Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until fully set. Once set, lift the bars out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut them into squares.
