Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • a pinch kosher salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and cooled slightly
  • 6 tablespoons Nutella plus extra for drizzling
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat Your Waffle Maker
Start by preheating your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. This ensures that your waffles will cook evenly and become wonderfully crispy.
  • Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of kosher salt.
  • Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir in the melted butter and Nutella until well incorporated.
  • Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Mixes
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine.
  • Step 5: Cook the Waffles
Lightly grease your preheated waffle maker with cooking spray or a little melted butter. Pour the batter onto the waffle maker, using about 1/2 cup for each waffle. Close the lid and cook until golden brown, usually about 4-5 minutes.
  • Step 6: Serve and Garnish
Once cooked, carefully remove the waffles from the maker and serve immediately. Drizzle with extra Nutella, and add sliced strawberries and whipped cream if desired.
