Ingredients

For the Steaks:

  • 2 steaks ribeye, New York strip, top sirloin, or filet mignon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes or 1/2 teaspoon fresh
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Cooking Instructions:

  • Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures that your steaks will have a nice crust when they finish cooking.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Steaks - Pat your steaks dry with a paper towel to ensure a good sear. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Drizzle the olive oil in a hot skillet over medium-high heat, and sear the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust.
  • Step 3: Make the Topping - In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, panko bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, mayo, salt, dried parsley, and garlic powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Step 4: Top the Steaks - Once your steaks are perfectly seared, remove them from the skillet. Spread a generous layer of the Parmesan mixture over the top of each steak, ensuring an even coating.
  • Step 5: Bake the Steaks - Transfer the skillet with the topped steaks into the preheated oven. Bake for about 8-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steaks and your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium).
  • Step 6: Rest and Serve - Once done, remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat. Serve your Parmesan Crusted Steaks with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or creamy mashed potatoes.
