Ingredients

  • 1 pinch salt (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sweetener (optional, like coconut sugar or maple sugar)

Instructions

  • Start by measuring out 2 cups of pistachios. If you prefer a more intense flavor, consider using roasted pistachios.
  • Place the pistachios in your food processor. Pulse them for about 30 seconds to break them down into smaller pieces.
  • After the initial pulsing, stop the food processor and use a spatula to scrape down the sides.
  • Resume processing the pistachios for several more minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Once your pistachio butter is smooth, you can add a pinch of salt, ground cardamom, cinnamon, or any sweetener you desire.
  • Taste your pistachio butter and adjust the flavor as needed.
  • Transfer the pistachio butter into a glass jar or airtight container and store it in the refrigerator.
