In a mixing bowl, combine the softened salted butter with the minced garlic. Mix well until the garlic is evenly distributed throughout the butter.
Take your rib eye roast and generously season it with garlic salt and cracked black pepper on all sides.
Using a brush or your hands, spread the garlic butter mixture over the entire surface of the roast.
Allow the seasoned roast to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
Place the rib eye roast in the roasting pan, bone side down. Roast it in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 15-20 minutes.
