Ingredients

  • 1 lb cold butter (4 sticks)
  • 3 cups light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups chocolate chips
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your butter is cold, as this will help create the perfect texture in your cookies.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cold butter and light brown sugar. Use a whisk or mixer to cream them together until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Once your butter and sugar are well combined, add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract until everything is well blended.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a silicone spatula. Make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • For the best results, cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This helps to develop the flavors and ensures your cookies maintain their shape while baking.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and the centers are still soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy your freshly baked Ritz Carlton Chocolate Chip Cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Cookie sheets
  • Silicone spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Parchment Paper

Notes

  • For extra gooey cookies, slightly underbake them. They will continue to cook on the baking sheet after being removed from the oven.
  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor. Semi-sweet or dark chocolate works beautifully.
  • Experiment with different types of sugar. Using dark brown sugar can add a deeper flavor to your cookies.
