Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 cups cauliflower florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • to taste fresh ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is key to achieving that perfect caramelization.
  • Wash the broccoli and cauliflower thoroughly. Cut them into bite-sized florets to ensure even cooking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the broccoli and cauliflower florets. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, kosher salt, and fresh ground black pepper. Toss until the vegetables are evenly coated.
  • Spread the seasoned vegetables in a single layer on a baking sheet. Ensure they have enough space between them for proper roasting.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 20-25 minutes. Halfway through, use a spatula or tongs to flip the vegetables for even browning.
  • The vegetables should be tender and slightly crispy at the edges when done. If necessary, roast for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm. Enjoy the deliciousness of Roasted Broccoli and Cauliflower as a side dish or a healthy snack!
