Ingredients

For the Saganaki:

  • 1 piece Saganaki cheese Traditionally Kefalotyri or Kasseri
  • 1 cup Flour for dredging
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil for frying
  • 1/2 lemon cut into wedges

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Cheese - Slice Saganaki cheese into thick pieces, about 1-inch thick.
  • Step 2: Dredge in Flour - Dredge each slice of cheese in flour, coating all sides and shaking off excess.
  • Step 3: Heat the Olive Oil - Pour enough olive oil into the frying pan to cover the bottom, heating over medium until shimmering.
  • Step 4: Fry the Cheese - Fry each slice for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Step 5: Drain and Serve - Transfer fried cheese to a plate lined with paper towels and serve with lemon wedges.
