Ingredients

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes diced
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (or 2 teaspoons minced garlic in oil)
  • 1 cup mayo
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne optional
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 16 oz crab meat
  • 3 green onions chopped

Instructions

  • Before you start mixing, make sure all your ingredients are ready. Dice the cherry tomatoes, chop the green onions, and mince the garlic if you’re using fresh cloves.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and mayo. Use a spatula to blend them together until smooth and creamy.
  • Mix in the lemon zest, minced garlic, hot sauce, and Old Bay seasoning. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. If you like a bit of heat, toss in the cayenne pepper.
  • Gently fold in the crab meat, shredded cheddar cheese, diced cherry tomatoes, and chopped green onions. Be careful not to break up the crab too much; you want to maintain some texture.
  • If you prefer a warm dip, transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Spread it evenly in the dish.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the dip for about 20-25 minutes, or until it’s bubbly and golden on top. If you’re serving it cold, skip this step!
  • Serve your Seafood Dip warm or cold with your favorite crackers, toasted bread, or fresh vegetables. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use reduced-fat cream cheese and mayo for a lighter version.

  • Opt for Greek yogurt instead of mayo for a tangy twist and added protein.
