Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (5 to 6-lb)
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Start by rinsing the whole chicken under cold water and patting it dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, paprika, onion powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, ensuring to get it under the skin and inside the cavity.
  • Place the seasoned chicken breast-side up in the slow cooker.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for about 6 to 8 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • For an extra crispy skin, transfer the cooked chicken to a baking sheet and broil it in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before carving. Serve and enjoy!
