Ingredients

  • 1 bag pretzels about 12 ounces
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup crushed Takis chips any flavor you prefer, but Fuego is ideal
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients

  • Start by measuring out your pretzels, oil, ranch seasoning, crushed Takis chips, garlic powder, and onion powder. For the crushed Takis, place the chips in a zip-top bag and gently crush them with a rolling pin or your hands until they turn into coarse crumbs.

Step 2: Heat the Oil

  • Pour the vegetable oil into a large skillet or frying pan and warm it over medium heat. The oil should be warm enough to help the seasonings stick but not smoking hot.

Step 3: Toss the Pretzels

  • Add the entire bag of pretzels to the warmed oil and stir to coat them evenly. Ensure each pretzel is lightly coated but not soaked.

Step 4: Add the Seasonings

  • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix, crushed Takis chips, garlic powder, and onion powder over the pretzels. Immediately toss everything together with a large spatula or wooden spoon to ensure the seasoning mixture clings to every pretzel.

Step 5: Cool and Serve

  • Transfer the coated pretzels to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a large tray. Spread them out to cool and let the seasoning set for about 10 minutes. Serve in a big bowl or portion into snack bags.

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Zip-Top Bag
  • Spatula

Notes

  • Use Fuego-flavored Takis for the best combination of heat and lime tang.
  • Make sure the oil is warm but not too hot to avoid soggy pretzels.
  • Crush Takis into coarse crumbs rather than powder for better texture and coating.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • For extra crunch, bake coated pretzels at 300°F for 10 minutes on a parchment-lined tray.
