Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
  • 1 large, 8-12 oz loaf French bread
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or Italian cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack, Colby, Cheddar, or Mexican blend cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or dried Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped garlic, softened unsalted butter, and extra-virgin olive oil. Mix well.
  • Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the French bread in half lengthwise.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Monterey Jack (or your chosen cheese blend) evenly over the buttered bread halves.
  • Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley or dried Italian seasoning over the cheese.
