Ingredients

For the Fries:

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes unpeeled
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 spray nonstick vegetable oil cooking spray
  • to taste kosher salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Method:

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) for perfect crispiness.
  • Step 2: Scrub the russet potatoes under running water and cut them lengthwise into wedges, about ½ to ¾ inch thick.
  • Step 3: Toss the potato wedges with vegetable oil and a light spray of nonstick cooking spray. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Step 4: Spread the seasoned potato wedges evenly on a prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  • Step 5: Roast in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
  • Step 6: Remove from the oven, cool slightly, and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
