Ingredients

For the Turkey Burger:

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Kosher or sea salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes diced (if using 99% lean turkey breasts, recommend using sun-dried tomatoes packed in olive oil)
  • 1/2 cup low-fat feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chives or green onions diced

Instructions

Instructions:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, black pepper, and a sprinkle of kosher or sea salt. Ensure the turkey is well-seasoned for optimal flavor.
  • Fold in the diced sun-dried tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, and chopped chives or green onions. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough burgers.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
  • If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. If using a skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Place the patties on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Cooking times may vary based on the thickness of the patties and the heat of your cooking surface.
  • Once cooked through, remove the burgers from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve them on your favorite buns, topped with fresh veggies, tzatziki sauce, or your choice of condiments.
