Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line your muffin tin with parchment paper or muffin liners.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, mashed bananas, sugar, and slightly beaten egg. Whisk until well blended.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the white whole wheat flour, kosher salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and mini chocolate chips.
Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Remove from oven and allow to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
